Because they’re toasting $500 million and because it’s a depression and that means people are drinking wine, luckily I found a cold, cold bottle of (free) captain in the fridge. But people are drinking wine and beers and leftover rum (cuz it’s recession, y’all) and people doing it in their homes, not alone sometimes, in fact, I’m skipping the pre-bar bar experience ie, jukebox, patio ya pay for instead for patio living, a house of a friend, then there’s walking downtown into a mess of people, across a bridge, the home of bats, into some live music capitol mess of Pecan Street Fest into drunken Sixth street shot bar mentality, past pedicabs peddling paychecks of swelter, past tattoo shops and piercing holes you regret, holes that never grow back. Can’t wait for tonight, have some things I wanna dance on out.
